Community RN

Most important to me is that I am a Christian and that God entrusted me to help take care of others and I love being a nurse.

I grew up in the Clifton hills on a farm; yes, I am a hillbilly! I married David Faulkner in 1970 and we have six wonderful children. We were together for 45 years; after him battling cancer for six years he won with total healing and was given a new healthy body in heaven. I was blessed again and married Timothy Hein in 2018, in which he brought me my 7th child. I have been blessed with 20 grandkids and 6 great grandkids and looking forward to more in the future.

Education: I graduated in 1989 with high honors from Western Technical College. I was certified in Gerontological nursing in 1993. I graduated from Viterbo University in July of 2001 with my BSN. I had specialized training with End of Life Nursing Education Consortium and became a trainer for Hospice Care.

I worked at the Tomah Veteran's Administration Medical Center in 1989 until retirement in 2016. For more experience I also worked the following jobs in addition to the TVAMC: Care Center Nursing Home, La Crosse Visiting Nurses Association, Inc., Unity Home Health Care, Department of Health and Family Services for the State of WI and worked with Premier Medical Staffing Service as a contract nurse. I became part of the team at Liberty Village in November 2017.

Most of my nursing experience has been with long term care needs. I have enjoyed working with Veterans of all ages; specializing in ventilators, Hospice, psych, PTSD and nursing home population. In the community, I had the privilege of taking care of infants, children, and adults. I had the honor of being stationed at Troop Medical Clinic at Fort McCoy for 14 months.

In conclusion, I love people and I am honored to have the chance of being part of a team to take care of the resident's at Liberty Village. May the Lord's love project through me with quality nursing skills, compassion, sincerity, respect, comfort, and joy. Grace Hein, RN, BSN
